HydroClean Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning is a family-run cleaning company based in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire. We started with just one person and a borrowed van, and we have grown into a team of 10 fully trained carpet, upholstery and floor technicians serving homes and businesses across Northants, Bedford and Milton Keynes.
How it all started
It all started in 2006 when the owner hired one of those self-service carpet cleaning machines from his local supermarket. The kind you have probably tried yourself. After running it over the carpets at home, they were soaking wet, and the next day they were still wet and starting to smell. The smell got so bad the carpets eventually had to come out altogether.
He started wondering whether there had to be a better way to clean carpets properly, and it turned out there was. After researching the trade, attending professional carpet and upholstery cleaning courses, and buying that first proper machine, he set out cleaning carpets for a living. Twenty years on, HydroClean now runs 5 commercial machines, employs 10 people, and cleans between 70 and 100 carpets every week.
